Sunflower Blossom Therapies

With Care, We Bloom Anywhere.

Our Team

Heather is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), bringing together the science of behavior and the healing connection of music.

With her unique background, Heather understands that growth doesn’t always happen in silence — sometimes it’s found in a simple rhythm, a familiar song, or a shared moment of joy.

She believes that therapy should be as individual as the children she serves — blending structure with creativity, patience with play, and data with heart.

After years of working in ABA and Music Therapy, Heather saw a need for a different kind of support: one that treats the whole child, builds real relationships, and holds space for both the hard days and the beautiful breakthroughs.

“Every child deserves a place where they are believed in — fiercely, fully, and without hesitation. That’s what we’re building here. A place where families can finally exhale and know: You are not alone anymore.”

At Sunflower Blossom Therapies, Heather’s mission is simple but powerful:

To help every child and family bloom — with care, with hope, and with heart.

Alex earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Psychology from the University of New Orleans in 2016. After several years working as a chemist, she felt unfulfilled by the limited opportunities for meaningful work in the area. Motivated to find a career that made a true difference, she took a leap of faith and entered the world of Applied Behavior Analysis in 2023.

She began as a Registered Line Technician while pursuing her master’s degree and gained experience working with clinic-based clients ages 2–16, with a strong focus on severe challenging behaviors.

Alex graduated from Capella University in 2025 with her Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis and is now a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Outside of work, Alex is a proud mom of two active kids and is happily married. When she’s not in the clinic or at a sporting event, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, binge-watching TV shows, and taking well-deserved naps.
