What is ABA Therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based approach to helping children build communication, social, daily living, and behavioral skills.
At Sunflower Blossom Therapies, we focus on individualized, compassionate ABA that helps your child thrive — not just follow a program.

What ages do you serve?

We currently serve children ages 2-18, with a focus on individualized programs based on each child’s unique needs and goals.

Where do you provide services?

Right now, we offer in-school ABA therapy within St. Charles Parish and nearby areas.
Clinic-based services are coming soon — stay tuned!

Do you accept insurance?
Yes! We are currently credentialed with Aetna, Healthy Blue, Amerihealth, Humana, United Healthcare, Louisiana Healthcare Connections, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Magellan.
If you have specific questions about coverage, feel free to Contact Us and we’ll be happy to guide you through the process.

Is there a waitlist?
We do currently maintain a waitlist.
We promise to keep you updated every step of the way and are happy to answer questions while you wait.

What is the typical process?
Once your child is next on the waitlist, the BCBA assigned to your child’s case will directly reach out to you either via email or phone. The BCBA will confirm that you are still interested in ABA services and then move forward with submitting an assessment authorization request to insurance (if still interested). Once insurance approves, the BCBA will reach out again to schedule the assessment. Every BCBA schedules and conducts assessments differently, so there is no one size fits all plan to this. Assessments consist of both indirect (e.g., parent interviews) and direct (e.g., client observations) assessments. The assessment is for the BCBA to learn your child’s strengths and deficits and create an individualized treatment plan for your child. There are no cookie cutter plans here! Once this treatment plan is written, the BCBA will then submit another authorization request to insurance. Once this is approved, services are ready to begin! If insurance ever denies anything, don’t lose hope! We may need your assistance in the fight, but we can appeal the case to prove why services are medically necessary for your child! Insurances require re-authorization every six months of ABA treatment. This is standard practice across the board.

Will you involve me as a parent?

Absolutely!
We believe therapy works best when families are part of the team.
You’ll have regular communication with your child’s team, and we offer parent coaching sessions to support skills at home, too.

Are you able to handle my child with severe behaviors?
Ultimately, it depends on our environmental availability. But yes! We have years of experience with a wide array of severe behaviors, including (but not limited to) self-injurious behaviors (SIB), aggression, elopement, property destruction, etc. We are here to love and support your child every step of the way!

Do you only use ABA or do you incorporate other approaches?
While our foundation is rooted in evidence-based ABA practices, we believe in meeting each child where they are — including incorporating elements like music, movement, and creative engagement when helpful for connection and growth. 🎶🌻

Do you collaborate with other professionals?
100%! With your consent, we are willing to collaborate with any other professional with the common goal of setting your child up for success! This includes (but is not limited to) speech therapy, occupational therapy, physician, etc.

Are there any additional resources that may help my family?
